African Cultural Fashion Heritage (ACFH) was born out of a deep passion to celebrate, preserve, and elevate the rich tapestry of African culture through the lens of fashion, arts, and heritage. Founded by visionary leader Temitope Kayode (Temmy Kayode), ACFH was established to provide a global stage where African, Caribbean, and Black creatives could shine, share their stories, and reclaim their cultural narrative through the power of fashion.
Our journey began with a simple yet profound belief: that fashion is more than style—it is a voice, a legacy, and a living archive of our people’s history. For centuries, African textiles, prints, and designs have influenced global fashion trends, yet the creators and cultures behind them have often remained unrecognized. ACFH was created to change that.
Rooted in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) region, our platform started as a local initiative to showcase community talent, uplift young models, and celebrate African heritage. It quickly grew into an international movement connecting fashion designers, cultural leaders, and artisans from across the diaspora. Through our Annual African Cultural Fashion Heritage & Award Night, cultural exhibitions, and industry partnerships, we’ve united diverse communities under one powerful vision: to honor our past, celebrate our present, and empower our future.
Today, ACFH stands as a prestigious platform for cultural preservation, fashion innovation, and community empowerment. Our roots are proudly African, but our reach is global. We continue to inspire generations by creating space for authenticity, excellence, and purpose—making sure that every thread, every design, and every voice tells a story that deserves to be seen and celebrated.
